This movie is set in 2200 . interplanetary space travel is a reality and technical advances make it possible to travel to the some of the closest stars.....Canopus is estimated to be around 100 light years away and is at the limit of man's reach into the cosmos...A number of planets move around this star at great distances... 279 is one of the more habitable planets....sattelite probes have detected life on it. A civilisation is thought possible but traces of homo-sapien life are hard to find.. The crew of the survey vessel JOHN D Rockafeller land and investigate
